The 2026 World Cup is just two weeks away, with the eyes of the world set to be cast on the United States, Mexico and Canada.
For the first time, three countries will co-host the tournament, which is fitting, because this will also be the first time that the World Cup has 48 teams.
The expansion from 32 teams to 48 also means that there will now be 12 groups instead of eight, and the knockout round will start with the round of 32 instead of the round of 16.
The 12 groups will each feature four teams, who will play one game against every other team. The top two teams in each group advance along with the eight best third-place finishers.
