Netflix's animated smash hit "KPop Demon Hunters" is unstoppable.
After breaking records, topping charts, and securing two Golden Globe trophies, the film's song "Golden" won an award at the early ceremony of the 68th annual Grammy Awards, where the majority of the winners in the 95 categories are named. "Golden," which took home best song written for visual media, is also nominated for song of the year, the result of which is yet to be announced.
After releasing last year in June, "KPop Demon Hunters" quickly took on a life of its own, garnering an avid fanbase and becoming the most-watched Netflix film of all time. Fans also couldn't get enough of the soundtrack, quickly rocketing "Golden" into Spotify's 1 billion streams club.
The dance track landed in seventh on Spotify's most-streamed tracks in the world in 2025. A sequel, with an anticipated 2029 release is also in the works at Netflix and Sony, Variety reported.
EJAE and Mark Sonnenblick accept the best song written for visual media award for "Golden” from "KPop Demon Hunters" onstage during the 68th Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Feb. 01, 2026.
EJAE, one of the voices behind Huntr/X, while speaking to reporters backstage at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards Jan. 11, said this wasn't a story of an overnight success.
"For a long time, as a kid, I was working for 10 years and [it was] another 10 years of writing, so it was just a long period. But I always felt like hard work didn't pay off for the longest time," the singer/songwriter said.
