Jamie Lee Curtis is only sometimes willing to change up her signature look.

In a Monday, March 31, Instagram post celebrating 50 years of acting, Curtis shared a photo from one of her earliest roles on Columbo next to a more recent snap of herself rocking a surprising new hairstyle.

The Oscar winner, 67, traded her signature gray pixie cut for a cheekbone-grazing blonde bob with side-parted bangs. She also wears a black top, gold-framed sunglasses and gold jewelry. The photo looks to be of Curtis in costume for her role in Scarpetta.

“Next year, I will [have] been an actress for 50 years. I was never going to be an actor. I thought I'd be a cop,” Curtis wrote in the caption.

She continued, “I was telling the story on set of my early jobs as an unnamed waitress on a Columbo episode when I was a contract player at Universal Pictures and now I am a producer, HBIC [head bitch in charge], a costar with Nicole Kidman and collaborator on #scarpetta @primevideo @nowscreamingpv @blumhouse @comet.pictures @blossomfilms.”

“There was no future tripping," Curtis added. "It was just each job, one job at a time, grateful for any opportunity and patience. Lots of f---ing patience.”

The actress has starred in iconic movies such as True Lies, Trading Places, A Fish Called Wanda, Freaky Friday and Knives Out.

Curtis — who is the daughter of award-winning actors Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis — won the Oscar in 2023 for Best Supporting Actress in the 2022 film, Everything Everywhere All at Once, where she played IRS auditor Deirdre Beaubeirdre.

The star has previously opened up about her signature hairstyle.

In April 2025, she took to Instagram to share a photo of her new haircut that she said makes her feel like herself.

In the caption, Curtis wrote that after needing to grow her hair out for the last year and a half for one of her acting jobs, she was finally able to cut it back to the way she prefers it.

“I did fine and obviously it's not a big deal but when I have my hair cut the way I love it and the way it suits me, it gives me the freedom to exist with no make up and very little fuss," she shared.
