The Jonas Brothers are taking a trip down memory lane as they tease the brand new Camp Rock 3 installment premiering on Disney Channel this week.

Disney fans are on the edge of their seats as the new, highly anticipated third installment of the Camp Rock franchise is debuting. The movie is nostalgic for many '90s babies, as many still remember the choreography and songs from the original movie over two decades ago. The upcoming film will be a major reunion for the original cast, as fans finally get to see Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Nick Jonas, and Demi Lovato back together onscreen.

The film follows the band Connect 3 as they lose their opening act for an upcoming reunion tour and return to Camp Rock to find a new replacement. While some fans believe that the movie will "flop" due to one major change, many are still eagerly looking forward to the nostalgic release.

Ahead of the debut, the Jonas Brothers and Demi have engaged in a number of interviews about the film and reflected on their original Camp Rock days.

As fans tune in to the new film, here is a roundup of what the core cast members have said about the film and their excitement to return to their roots once again.

Nick Jonas

Nick reflected on how filming was different in his thirties compared to his twenties

Sharing how he felt about reprising his role of Nate Gray at the age of 33, he explained, "Maybe in your 20s or late teens, you’re embarrassed by certain things,ā€ Nick explained to Entertainment Weekly. ā€œWhen you get to be 30, you have kids of your own, you look at those photos and those memories, and you attach a carefree ā€˜non-adulting’ side of yourself."

He continued, "And I think we all are desperate to get back to that — to find ways to tap into that unbridled joy where and when you can. That’s what life’s all about. I [think] that 10 years ago we wouldn’t have been as keen [to return], but we are very thankful to be part of something that’s traveled all over the world and become something that we can be really proud of with our wonderful friends at Disney.ā€

While Demi is not a core part of the cast of Camp Rock 3, she will be making a cameo appearance, which Nick agreed was essential to make it feel complete. He told the news outlet that ā€œit would not be Camp Rock 3 without Demi’s involvement."

Joe, who starred as Shane Gray in Camp Rock, also shared his excitement for Camp Rock 3. He told Entertainment Weekly, "I did not expect the reaction we have had. I knew that the OG fans who grew up with Camp Rock would be thrilled, but it’s this whole new generation of young people who have discovered Camp Rock through Disney+ and even TikTok."

He continued, "We, as a team, wanted to make sure that we had moments where we nodded to some of what people love so much about that original film — the iconic dances, the comedy that we didn’t think was funny at the time but became meme-worthy.ā€

Sharing his thoughts on a future Camp Rock 4, Joe joked, "We are always down to come back as grandpas. Never say never… I think it’s fun to pop in and out and continue to carry the torch.ā€

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the film’s L.A. premiere, Joe said that while he was shooting scenes with Demi again they ā€œboth were looking at these new campers kind of pinching ourselves like wow, this is a pretty wild full circle moment. We’ve all lived so much life and to be where we are today and to create something like this, Camp Rock 3, as producers, wearing the producer hat, I think we were like, ā€˜This is kind of wild.'ā€

When asked about his thoughts on the new generation of stars taking over Disney, Joe said, ā€œI don’t envy anybody that’s doing this now; there’s probably a lot more scrutiny.ā€

He continued, ā€œThings happen a lot faster, and with that you also have an opportunity to kind of explain yourself quicker; when we were starting, we didn’t have a lot of options — just kind of hope that the article isn’t about you. Now you can at least go on your TikTok and say, ā€˜Hey guys, I didn’t say that’ or whatever it is.ā€

Kevin Jonas

Kevin Jonas explained how they squeezed filming into their jam-packed schedule

In a red-carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kevin said it felt like "two decades have gone by, but a great two decades."

When he was later asked why his two daughters were starring in the film alongside him, he said, "They had school during this time, but they did ask why you're so cringe during a couple of scenes on this one. So we're at that age now, so it's only appropriate. I'll take it."

Kevin has two daughters: Alena Rose, 12 (born February 2, 2014), and Valentina Angelina, 9 (born October 27, 2016). He welcomed his children with his wife Danielle Jonas (nƩe Deleasa), whom he met in the Bahamas in 2007 and married on December 19, 2009.

In a guest appearance on The Squeeze podcast, Kevin dished on filming while on tour together as a band. He shared, "We filmed Camp Rock while on tour. We had a week-and-a-half section of the tour that we blocked off to go in. We're executive producing it. We're filming it. And it's going to be really cool to pass the baton to a new generation."

He continued, "And, you know, obviously we're in it and a part of it, but like these kids are so talented. I think it has a lot to do with TikTok and the way they can dance and perform. They're like light years ahead of all of us younger generation guys that like started early that were like, 'Oh, you're like you're actually talented.'"

Camp Rock 3 releases on Disney Channel on August 13, 2026 and on Disney+ on August 14.
