Don't mess with Rachel of the jungle 🐗

Beware of getting on Rachel McAdams' bad side.
The actress will wreck any enemy, be it man or pig, when she's in full survival mode, as she is in the thriller "Send Help," The erstwhile Regina George has one of her most fun roles ever, and gets covered in gore, thanks to director Sam Raimi. That's a best bet for this week's recommendations list, as is a new action jam with Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista as a couple of buff bros in "The Wrecking Crew," a new Marvel superhero debuting in Disney+'s "Wonder Man," and a fourth season of "Bridgerton" – well, half of it anyway – to binge on Netflix.
Now on to the good stuff:
See Rachel McAdams fight wild boars, misogyny in survival horror movie 'Send Help'
Rachel McAdams plays a "Survivor" fan who actually winds up stuck on a deserted island in the thriller "Send Help."
You ever been in a movie, see a scene and be all, "I can't wait to tell my friends about this!" Watch Party fam, I get to show you a bit: "Send Help" (in theaters now) stars Rachel McAdams as a strategy expert (and "Survivor" superfan) who gets stuck on a deserted island with her sexist tech-bro boss (Dylan O'Brien), and we've got a nifty exclusive clip where she battles ... a killer boar! It's also one of director Sam Raimi's fave scenes, and he tells me he was going for "a thrilling, fun, scary, ‘Oh, my God’ moment for the audience. And I really wanted the hero to taste blood.”
That's a good flick and so is "The Wrecking Crew," a new Prime Video action movie where Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista are estranged Hawaiian half-brothers who investigate their father's death and cause an enjoyably large amount of destruction and mayhem. (Peep my ★★★ review.) The bombastic extravaganza is one of several fresh flicks streaming this week, a list that also includes Scarlett Johansson's moving directorial debut "Eleanor the Great" and Rose Byrne's dark comedy "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You."
Get Benedict-ed on the fourth season of Netflix's 'Bridgerton'
Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) gets new focus in Season 4 of Netflix's "Bridgerton."
"Bridgerton" is back, y'all! The super-popular Netflix romance has returned for a fourth season of steamy escapades in period costumes with a new focus on eternal bachelor Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson). The first half of the season is streaming now, with a literal Cinderella story pulled from the Julia Quinn novels, though TV critic Kelly Lawler isn't finding much magic in it yet. She writes in her ★★ review that Benedict, as a Prince Charming, is "one of the blander, more annoying characters" on "Bridgerton" though finds Yerin Ha, who plays Benedict's romantic foil Sophie, "magnetic."
And in case you need to catch up, here's a character guide to all the new and old "Bridgerton" faces in Season 4.
Stream 'Wonder Man' with new Marvel hero Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Simon Williams (Yahya Adbul-Mateen II) is Marvel's newest hero – and an aspiring movie star – in the Disney+ series "Wonder Man."
Where my fellow West Coast Avengers comic-book fans from the '80s at? One of Marvel's more interesting personalities arrives in the superhero universe with "Wonder Man" (streaming now on Disney+): Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams, an aspiring actor trying to make it big in Hollywood but also keeping his powers under wraps. Abdul-Mateen tells me that the show really captures the life of a working actor, from "weird" warm-up routines to feeling like a failure. "A lot of times, the job involves dreaming about the next possibility while also sometimes being met with the possibility that your best days are behind you," he says.
Kelly is mixed on the show, writing in her ★★½ review that "Wonder Man" is "a bit too mournful, a bit too slow, and a bit too 'inside' the entertainment industry" as it struggles to fit into the MCU and also stand on its own.
Even more goodness to check out! -
Brett Ratner has been in Hollywood exile for years. Is the director of the new Melania Trump documentary primed for a comeback?
Watch fan-favorite characters Flash and Clawhauser in this exclusive deleted scene from "Zootopia 2."
There are two interesting period films playing in theaters now, and you'll want to read more about the true stories behind "Hamnet" and "The Testament of Ann Lee."
Real life inspired Michael J. Fox's appearance on the latest season of "Shrinking."
And get psyched for "Ted Lasso" returning this summer! Ted coaches a women's soccer team and probably has a lot of sage, off-the-wall wisdom for his new players.
