Catherine O'Hara, the Emmy-winning actress who died Friday, Jan. 30, was smiling at the last event where she was photographed: a party that Apple TV threw to toast the awards show in September.
O'Hara walked the red carpet with her date, husband Bo Welch, in a black dress reminiscent of her *Beetlejuice* character, sculptor Delia, at the Sept. 14 fete held at the restaurant Ysabel in Los Angeles.**
When it came to the Emmys, O'Hara often had something to celebrate. She had won twice, after being nominated 10 times for the honor.

The wins came in 2020, where she was recognized for playing Moira Rose on *Schitt's Creek*, alongside frequent collaborator Eugene Levy, and in 1982, when she won the award for Outstanding Writing in a Variety of Music Program, for her work behind the camera on *SCTV*.

She was also nominated for her supporting role as Patty Leigh in Seth Rogen's comedy *The Studio* in 2025, but she didn't win.
While her work on TV was acclaimed, O'Hara starred in movies that continue to air on cable and are beloved by audiences, such as holiday classics *Home Alone *and *Home Alone 2: Lost in New York*, *Beetlejuice*, and Christopher Guest comedies such as *Best in Show*.
O'Hara was 71. A cause for her death was not given.**
