“All That” star Christy Knowings reportedly dies from an asthma attack at 46

Christy Knowings, an actress who starred on three seasons of All That, has reportedly died following an asthma attack that caused brain damage. She was 46.

The actress had been hospitalized for four days until her family made the difficult decision to remove her from life support on Tuesday, Aug. 11, a family member told TMZ.

Representatives for Knowings did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment.

Knowings, who was born in Brooklyn, joined the cast of the Nickelodeon comedy series in 1997. Among her most memorable sketches was “Whateverrr!!!” with Amanda Bynes.

But her favorite was a season 6 character named Gloria Bankhead, “an over the top Martha Stewart,” Knowings told Bustle in 2017. “I just remember being on set and being her all-day long. Everybody loved it! The writers, the stage managers, everybody was just like, ‘Hi Gloria!’ Gloria Bankhead was my favorite character to play. She was on set like that all the time. It was fun to just be in character like that, even when the cameras weren’t rolling. It’s what I’d do constantly.”

In the years after All That, Knowings appeared on several episodes of Sesame Street opposite her twin brother Chris Knowings, who remains a series regular on the kids program.
